When God began to create the heaven and the earth…
Genesis 1:1 (Torah)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
John 1:1-5 (NIV)
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
Revelation 19:11-13 (NIV)
A long time ago, I was in heaven and I saw a man who said, “Come with me, there is something that I would like to share with you.” At the time, I did not know who he was. He took me to another place in heaven and said, “Stand over here.” So I stood as I was told, but I was unaware of my surroundings. Then he took several steps in front of me, and began to swing his arm around with his hand open; like a baseball pitcher who is winding a ball, before he throws it; except his hand was empty. While he was swinging his arm around, he caught small particles in his hand that looked like snowflakes. When his hand was full, he compacted what I saw, into a ball; like a snowball. Next, he threw the ball. As the ball ascended into the air, it grew, and became very large; then, it stopped in mid air, and remained in its place. Next, I saw water and land appear. But the most beautiful thing that I saw was what he did next... I saw him command vegetation to spring forth from the land. Suddenly, before my eyes, the large ball sprouted trees and plants and a vast array of colorful flowers. It was the most beautiful bouquet that I had ever seen! It looked the same as when you’re watching a time elapsed camera, taking pictures of a plant as it grows; except I saw a multitude of beautiful plants spring forth! I began to weep with such great tears, my vision became excessively blurred, and I could not see. I could no sooner wipe the tears from my eyes, and then my eyes would be filled with tears again. I was in such great awe of what I witnessed, and so humbled by his presence. Then I woke up, because this was a dream.
