Try to imagine that you are walking in a lush garden and it is filled with a multitude of colorful flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Your senses are acute and absorbing a vast array of beautiful colors and aromas and you can hear the sound of a chorus of birds singing.
The sun has wrapped you in a garment of warmth and you can feel a gentle breeze of fresh air. Then, you turn to see an unusual creature that is obscured in the leaves of a tree. It is a small animal that creeps slowly toward you, with a long prehensile tail, it has a face that resembles a human being, and it has the ability to speak to you!
Throughout my life, I have heard derogatory statements made about Adam and Eve. Whether behind the pulpit or by the general population, many people have judged them harshly; while other people have made a profit by using them as a prop in their cartoons or jokes. Anyone who has ever spoken disrespectfully of them, ever knew them or truly appreciated their circumstances, and possessed very little compassion.
I am going to share with you something that the Lord has shown me, so that you may be able to appreciate Adam and Eve a little more. In a dream, I saw the Garden of Eden, Eve, and the serpent. Eve was a beautiful woman; however, she also had the heart of a child. She was very simple and naïve. Eve was not accustomed to foolishness nor had she ever tried to deceive someone else; because she had no malice in her heart, and she was innocent in every way. When the serpent confronted Eve, she was taken by surprise and unprepared. She was overwhelmed by his presence. The serpent spoke to Eve in a rapid, clever manner that she was unaccustomed to. Eve was not given the opportunity to digest his words, and she could not rationalize what he was saying. No sooner than Eve tried to reason with the serpent, then the serpent would quickly contradict her. Eve was intimidated, frightened, and confused. Then, Eve submitted to the serpent’s pressure and took a bite of the forbidden fruit.
A lot of people have assumed that the fruit of the tree of knowledge was an apple, a fig, or a grape; however, it was not any of these. Although it resembled the shape and texture of a grape and was burgundy like some grapes; it was approximately the size of a large date and contained a multitude of seeds, like a pomegranate.
When Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden, they were not forcefully cast out, and they remained nearby. The Lord set their heart to wander and explore the garden, because it was large and beautiful. Adam and Eve were like children, wandering, and when they saw the gate; they became curious of what was on the other side. It was after they walked through the gate that the Lord reprimanded Adam, Eve, and the serpent and told them that they were not allowed to return to the garden. Then, Adam and Eve turned toward the garden and saw a fierce angel holding a blazing sword and blocking the gate. Adam and Eve were overwhelmed with grief, because of the Lord’s anger, and they spent the rest of their lives regretting and repenting of their sin, because of their disobedience and guilt for the fall of humanity.
The Lord truly loved Adam and Eve and they loved the Lord, and with the exception of the Lord; no one since the time of Adam and Eve, has been as pure or as good as them. So no one has a right to judge them or say anything derogatory about them.
