Prophesies Pertaining To Our Days

Man, Who Are You?

The words of Agur son of Jakeh, [man of] Massa; The speech of the man to Ithiel, to Ithiel and Ucal:  I am brutish, less than a man; I lack common sense.  I have not learned wisdom, nor do I possess knowledge of the Holy One.  Who has ascended heaven and come down?  Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hand?  Who has wrapped the waters in his garment?  Who has established all the extremities of the earth?  What is his name or his son’s name, if you know it?

Proverbs 30:1-4 (Tanakh)

From time to time, throughout history; we have learned about someone who developed a fanatical ideology of hatred, which motivated a group of people and even entire nations to participate in acts of hatred and murder, for the sake of “purifying the human race.”  In just the last century; we have witnessed it amongst the Ku Klux Klan, Nazis, and the White Supremacist.  So when I examine the ideology of the Fundamental Islamic Movement and Wahabism; I am not surprised by the teachings of their leaders. What does surprise me is the arrogance of humanity; when men think that they possess the wisdom to judge the human race as inferior to their own belief systems and they could imagine that the Lord needs anyone’s help to destroy humanity, if he wants to.

Has the sea stopped heaving at the Lords command; so that the tsunamis, typhoons, and hurricanes have ceased?  Has the earth stopped trembling at the sound of his voice or the forest stopped blazing by the touch of his hand?  Has the Lord become a simpleton; so that he has suddenly forgotten how to cast tornadoes, hail, flood, droughts, and pestilence upon the land?  Has the Lord lost complete control of all that lives and breathes, so that the heartbeat of a man keeps its rhythm, without his consent; that the Lord should need any ones help, in order to destroy humanity?

Who is man, to judge humanity?  For what man has ever witnessed the Lord; while he knit the loins together of a child, inside his mother’s womb, and took him by the hand in order to deliver him?  Were you there with every step that each man took and did you catch them when they fell?  Did you hold them while they wept and rejoice when they grasped wisdom?  Then how is it possible for any man to judge humanity; to truly be able to weigh the heart of a man, and determine whether he may be righteous or not?

If the Lord wishes to destroy the earth; who could stop him?  But please do not lift your hand up against another human being; because if you do, you will also be destroyed. (Isaiah 33:1)

Let the Lord Judge between us all, since we are his creation.
