Do not withhold good from one who deserves it, when you have the power to do it [for him]. Do not say to your fellow, “Come back again; I’ll give it to you tomorrow,” when you have it with you.
Proverbs 3:27-26 (Tanakh)
He who withholds what is due to the poor *affronts his Maker. He who shows pity for the needy honors Him.
Proverbs 14:31 (Tanakh)

I encourage you to make a commitment toward the homeless and hungry people, who dwell within your community. If you have the means and live in an area where you see poverty stricken people, please help them. I would like you to pick one day a week, to help someone else, by providing them with a meal. Whether you make a sack lunch, purchase an extra meal, or just offer someone in need enough money to buy something. If you do not live in an area where you see someone else that could use a hand or if you would feel vulnerable trying to help someone else in need, please consider making a contribution of your time and/or resources to assist an organization that focuses on these needs.
There are several places in every community, who truly try to make an effort of helping those, who cannot help themselves. Unfortunately, too many of them lack the funds or resources necessary, to help as much as they would like. Try to imagine how much better you would feel, if you thought about someone else and how much better they would feel, because you took the time to care.
Together, we could help so many people!
